The Beijing address identifies the business location, not a single growing origin for all its teas. Individual products can combine leaves and flowers from different producing areas. For example, the official small-leaf jasmine tea description identifies tea bases from Anhui and Fujian and jasmine flowers from Guangxi’s Hengxian area.

From an 1887 tea shop to a modern company

The brand’s official chronology starts with the opening of Wuyutai Chazhan in Beijing in 1887. It separately records the formation of a tea company in 1997 and the present joint-stock company in 2005. These dates describe different stages: the age of the brand should not be mistaken for the incorporation date of today’s company.

The timeline records recognition as a China Time-Honored Brand in 2006. Today its identity combines Beijing tea-shop culture with a wider retail offering. Its store locator is the practical place to check a particular branch; store totals in undated website introductions should not be treated as a live count.

Why jasmine tea is central to Wuyutai

Jasmine scenting brings fresh flowers and prepared tea leaves together so the tea absorbs fragrance. It is a processing tradition, rather than a requirement that the finished cup contain visible flower petals. China’s national heritage register lists Wuyutai jasmine-tea processing as a 2011 extension project and names the company as its protection organization.

The register describes nine linked stages, from preparing the tea base and selecting and tending flowers through scenting, heat release, flower separation, drying and blending. This explains why leaf selection and final blending matter alongside the flowers. The heritage recognition concerns the craft; it is not a separate quality certificate for every retail packet.

Tea collections and related products

Jasmine tea is the natural starting point, but it is not the whole catalogue. The official product navigation also includes green, black, oolong, dark and white teas. Sub-brand names help organize that range:

Yutai Yixiang · 御泰壹香 A jasmine-tea range, including gift presentations.
Gonghao · 贡毫 A named jasmine-tea collection.
Chunhe Jingming · 春和景茗 The green-tea sub-brand in the official navigation.
Yiyan Jiuding · 夷岩九鼎 Rock-tea products in the official navigation.
Jingcui Hongyun · 京粹红韵 The black-tea sub-brand in the official navigation.

The small-leaf Beijing-style jasmine tea is one useful example of the brand’s blending approach. A separate Yutai Yixiang family-themed gift listing describes a 360 g presentation divided between two tins. These are catalogue examples; confirm the current product, packaging, price and availability through the official sales channel.

For teaware, the website lists glass, porcelain, zisha clay, metal and wood categories. Those are retail categories; they do not establish that Wuyutai manufactures every vessel it sells. Tea foods, beverages and tea ice cream also appear in its product offering, extending the tea-shop experience beyond packets of leaves.
