Hand-Painted Lotus, Inside and Out
Deep blue lotus flowers and curling stems wrap around this rounded gongfu teacup from Jingdezhen, Jiangxi, China. A smaller lotus motif sits at the centre of the bowl, visible through the tea as you drink. Pale grey-green glaze, a warm brown rim and a fine network of crackle lines give the cup its softly aged appearance.
The cup is handmade from the ceramic clay body described in the source materials as laotaoni, and finished with hand-painted underglaze blue decoration and wood firing. Its approximate capacity is 130 mL. रिटेल मूल्य यह है US$125 for एक कप चाय; pitchers, trays and other teaware in the photographs are styling props.

Blue Lotus Brushwork
Fine outlines define the petals, seedpods and leaves, while darker blue washes add depth between the stems. The decoration continues around the bowl rather than stopping at the front. Narrow blue bands frame the upper body and the foot, keeping the busy floral design neatly contained.

Crackle Glaze and a Warm Brown Rim
The pale glaze carries a visible crackle pattern across the bowl and base. Its muted colour sets off the cobalt blue painting and the warmer colour at the lip. Small mineral specks and slight differences in glaze, brushwork or firing colour can occur in this handmade finish. The close-up photographs show the texture of the photographed example.

Interior Painting and Tea in the Cup
The open bowl makes both the tea colour and the interior lotus easy to see. At approximately 8 cm across and 5 cm high, it offers a broad opening for small servings of tea. The hand-held and pouring photographs show its scale in everyday use. Capacity is approximate; the supplied materials do not state a specific fill level.

Original Underside Mark
The gallery includes a complete underside view. The close-up below retains the original painted mark inside the foot ring, together with the crackle glaze around it. The exposed foot and surrounding blue borders are also visible in the supplied photographs.

Hand Decoration and Kiln Craft

The product materials do not identify an individual maker, so the workshop photographs are presented as process references.

Workshop Video: Decorating a Ceramic Blank
This short, silent excerpt from the supplied workshop video shows decoration being applied by hand to an unfired ceramic cup. It illustrates the handwork involved in ceramic decoration; it is not a demonstration of the finished lotus teacup or an identified artist.
Presentation and Care

Rinse before first use. After tea, wash gently with a soft sponge and mild detergent, rinse thoroughly and allow the cup to dry. Avoid abrasive pads, sudden temperature changes and knocks against the rim or foot. Regular cleaning helps prevent tea residue from collecting in the textured glaze.
