الوصف
Gong Pai Mingqian AAA West Lake Longjing tea brings a familiar Chinese green tea to your daily tea table in a 150 g tin. The flat leaves are pan-fired, while the deep green tin carries a gold dragon and wave design.
If you already enjoy Dragonwell and want a larger tin to work through, this size gives you room for a regular brewing routine. The photographs below show the packaging, dry leaves, tea liquor and opened leaves, so you can take a closer look before choosing.

A closer look at the 150 g tin
The front and angled views show the gold decoration continuing around the tin, with the producer’s name printed near the lid. Its green-and-gold presentation works equally well on a tea shelf or as a gift for someone who enjoys Chinese tea.

This listing is for 150 g of tea in a tin. Cups, teapots, food and other styling props in the photographs are for display.
Mingqian Longjing: the tea inside
West Lake Longjing is a green tea from Hangzhou in Zhejiang, China. Mingqian identifies tea picked before Qingming, the spring festival in early April. This product is described as pan-fired, with a flat leaf shape and a fresh, mellow taste.

The dry-leaf photograph shows the tea’s flat form; the glass and porcelain cup offer a view of the pale green liquor and leaves after brewing. Use these photographs as a visual introduction: the strength of your cup will also depend on water temperature, leaf quantity and steeping time.

AAA is the grade stated for this product. Harvest timing and grade describe different things; for more on the spring picking terms, read our Mingqian and Yuqian Longjing guide. Check the physical package for production and batch dates.
Gong Pai and its Hangzhou tea-making background
The brand is Gong Pai (贡牌), produced by Hangzhou Xihu Longjing Tea Co., Ltd. Its supplied background materials introduce the Qi family’s tea-making tradition and Qi Yingjie, alongside photographs of Longjing village, tea gardens and the company’s facilities.

Pan-firing is part of the Longjing tradition: the leaves are worked in a heated pan to develop their shape and character. The craft photograph, portrait and short film here introduce the brand’s wider tea-making setting; they do not document the production of an individual tin.

Brewing your first cup
As a starting point, try 2.5–3 g of leaves with 150–200 mL of water at about 80–85°C (176–185°F). Taste after 1–2 minutes and adjust to suit your preference. A clear glass makes it easy to watch the leaves open; porcelain is useful if you prefer to pour the tea off the leaves.
For more ways to adjust strength and bitterness, see our Longjing tea brewing guide.
Keeping the tea fresh
Keep the tea tightly sealed in a cool, dry place, away from light, moisture and strong odors. If refrigerating the sealed tin, allow it to return to room temperature before opening. The stated shelf life is 540 days from production; check the dates on your package.
