This handmade Zhu Ni Xishi Yixing teapot has a rounded body, short spout, curved loop handle and a fitted domed lid. Made in Yixing, China, it is listed at 225 mL with a retail price of US$428. The plain red clay surface makes the proportions and fine texture easy to appreciate.

The Xishi form

The supplied product material identifies this design as Xishi. Its full body curves into a short upward-facing spout, while the loop handle gives the opposite side a rounded profile. The lid follows the curve of the shoulder, with a small spherical knob above it. This compact silhouette is shown from the front, side and in the hand in the product gallery.

Zhu Ni clay and surface texture

The supplied specifications describe original-mineral Zhu Ni clay. Close-up photographs show a warm vermilion colour, fine visible texture and reflections that change with lighting and moisture. Colour in photographs may differ slightly from the physical piece. The surface illustration below is included to show texture, rather than to establish a mineral composition or a testing result.

Lid, spout and handle

A spherical knob with a visible vent hole sits on the domed lid. The short spout opens above the rounded shoulder, and the loop handle meets the body on the opposite side. The supplier describes carefully blended attachment areas for the spout, handle and knob. The close-up views let you inspect the visible joins and outlines yourself.

Opening, brewing and pouring

The opening is approximately 5.4 cm in diameter. With the lid removed, the mouth provides access for adding leaves and rinsing the interior. The photographs show the vessel open, holding tea and tilted for pouring. They illustrate use under the photographed conditions; brewing results depend on the tea, leaf quantity, water temperature and infusion time.
